A homely welcome

Location

Central location

Opsahl Gjestegaard is located in a quiet residential area on the edge of the city centre, right next to the hospital and Rensåsparken. The railway station is 500 metres away, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk leisurely to Bodø city centre where you will find a museum, the cathedral, the shopping centre, Stormen library and concert hall, and Bodø harbour and pier. Under 100 metres to a bus stop, where the bus also goes to the airport. It is also within walking distance of the Hurtigruten coastal ferry, high-speed boats and the ferry quay.

History

About us and the Guesthouse

The venerable guesthouse in Prinsensgate was probably built in the 1930s and then rebuilt after the Second World War in 1946. It was Jensine Opsahl who first rented out rooms at the lodging house. There were many lodging houses in Bodø at that time.

The guesthouse has since been run by several owners. Opsahl Gjestegaard is now family-run. It is owned and operated by sisters Marianne Drolsum and Eva Nohr.

Opsahl Gjestegaard is well known to many. Several of our guests say they stayed here a long time ago. It is also a "TV celebrity" from the programmes "Hellstrøm rydder opp" and "solgt".
