Folk music evening with Vidar Furholt

Vidar Furholt is a songwriter, artist from the cheerful south of Norway, and writes all lyrics and melodies himself. In April he released his fourth album 'Letting go', and several of his songs have been listed on NRK P1's local stations and his releases have received very good reviews. NRK's reviewer says among other things:

"Another song I must highlight is the track 'In my hands'. The lyrics about being a father to three small children are so well written, sung and composed that I was left with tears in my eyes, and that, hmm, doesn't happen often"

Stavanger Aftenblad gives the latest album a score of 5 out of 6 and states that:

"Most of the album is about love or the lack of it. These are not exactly new themes in folk music, but Furholt still manages to make it sound original. [...] Furholt stands firmly on his own feet, but if I must draw a comparison, it would have to be Bjørn Eidsvåg."

He is known for songs with lyrics that touch the listener, wrapped in beautiful melodies and arrangements. Furholt tells stories with warm humour, both in and between the songs, and invites the audience on an atmospheric journey that invites smiles, laughter, reflection – and perhaps a few tears.
